Do I need an appointment?
For buying and selling bullion, no — just walk in any time during opening hours, Monday to Friday. Safety deposit boxes are by appointment for all dealings — book your appointment online or call the Sydney team on 1300 214 457.
Do I need to bring ID?
Photo ID is required for transactions above $5,000, in line with Australian bullion market laws and regulations. To be safe, bring photo ID with you.
What precious metals can I buy at the Sydney store?
Gold, silver and platinum bars and coins, available to walk in and purchase Monday to Friday. You can also browse and buy online.
How do I sell my gold or silver in Sydney?
Simply bring your bullion into the store — we test it while you’re there, agree on a price with you, and pay on the spot by bank transfer or cash. Learn how selling works.

We deal in cash and bank transfer only. When you sell, we test the grade of your bullion in store, agree on a price with you, and then pay you by bank transfer or cash.

Do you buy jewellery or scrap gold?
We primarily buy investment-grade bullion bars and coins. If you have jewellery or scrap gold, call the Sydney team on 1300 214 457 and we’ll point you in the right direction.
How much does a safety deposit box cost?

What can I store in a safety deposit box?
Anything you can’t afford to lose: bullion, jewellery, currency, important documents, family heirlooms, hard drives and cold storage, crypto wallets, coin and stamp collections, and medals.
Can you access my safety deposit box?
No — our boxes use a dual-key system. Opening a box requires both your key and ours together, and we don’t hold a copy of yours, so no one can access your box without you present.
What’s the difference between vaulting and a safety deposit box?
A safety deposit box is your private box that only you can open under our dual-key system. Custodial vaulting means we securely store and fully insure your bullion for you — and you can buy or sell your holdings by phone or email without visiting.
Can I convert my pool allocated metal to physical bullion?
Yes — pool allocation lets you own precious metals without storage fees, and you can convert your holding to physical bullion for a fee whenever you choose.
Can I buy gold with my self-managed super fund?
Yes — the Sydney team provides specialist SMSF support for holding physical gold, silver and platinum inside your self-managed super fund.
What is Auctus Metal Portfolios?
Auctus is a professionally managed physical precious metals portfolio service available through Gold Bullion Australia, with a minimum buy-in of $250,000. Speak to the Sydney team to find out whether it suits your goals.
